Fabrimetal’s FM TMT® (Thermo-Mechanical Treatment) technology is used in the production of high tensile strength rebars, through controlled heating and cooling processes that create a unique combination of microstructural characteristics within the steel profile.
All steel bars are hot-rolled before undergoing the following three stages.
The stell bars pass through a specially designed, fully automated and computer-controlled cooling chamber. The surface of the bar is sprayed with water jets, maintaining a cooler external temperature and a high core temperature.
The bars are removed from the cooling chamber and set until the surface solidifies, forming an outer layer of tempered martensite.
