The event was organized by\u00a0<strong>INIQ \u2013 National Institute for Quality Infrastructure<\/strong>, in collaboration with\u00a0<strong>AIMCA \u2013 Association of Construction Materials Industries of Angola<\/strong>, and the\u00a0<strong>AAPC \u2013 Angolan Association of Designers and Consultants<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We all understand that standardization in the construction industry is crucial for many reasons. Standardization ensures that all stakeholders, from designers to contractors, follow established guidelines that guarantee the safety, quality, and durability of construction projects. This alignment not only streamlines the construction process but also mitigates the risks associated with non-standard practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Risks of non-compliance<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The lack of regulation in construction can lead to several harmful outcomes. Without standardized guidelines, the quality of materials and construction practices can vary widely, resulting in structures that may not withstand environmental stresses or the test of time. This inconsistency poses significant risks to occupant safety and can result in increased maintenance costs and potential legal liabilities for construction companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Benefits of regularization<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Regularization in the construction sector brings numerous benefits:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Safety and Reliability: Adherence to standards ensures that all construction practices meet minimum safety requirements, reducing the likelihood of accidents and structural failures.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Quality Assurance: Standardized procedures and materials contribute to the consistent quality of construction projects, ensuring that buildings are durable and fit for purpose.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00a0Cost Efficiency: By following standardized practices, companies can avoid the costs associated with rework and repairs due to non-compliance or substandard construction.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Environmental Protection: Standards often include guidelines for sustainable construction practices, which help reduce the environmental impact of construction projects.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Increasing durability through standardization.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The durability of civil construction projects is significantly increased through standardization. When all elements of a construction project, from design to material selection and execution, follow established standards, the resulting structures are more resistant to wear and tear, environmental conditions, and usage demands. However, the appeal remains: in addition to encouraging companies to adhere to standards, it is necessary to work in partnership with academia. Este alinhamento n\u00e3o s\u00f3 agiliza o processo de constru\u00e7\u00e3o, mas tamb\u00e9m mitiga os riscos associados a pr\u00e1ticas n\u00e3o padronizadas. A falta de regulariza\u00e7\u00e3o na constru\u00e7\u00e3o pode levar a v\u00e1rios resultados prejudiciais. Sem diretrizes padronizadas, a qualidade dos materiais e das pr\u00e1ticas de constru\u00e7\u00e3o pode variar amplamente, levando a estruturas que podem n\u00e3o resistir aos estresses ambientais ou ao teste do tempo.
