Fabrimetal is a privately owned company based in the Viana Industrial Estate, Angola, 25 km from Luanda, the country's capital city. Established in 2006, Fabrimetal is a leading manufacturer of FM TMT® (thermo-mechanical treatment) bars, high-quality reinforced steel bars used in civil, residential, commercial and industrial construction.
Fabrimetal's FM TMT® (thermomechanical treatment) technology is used to produce high tensile strength bars through heating and cooling processes that generate a combination of microstructural characteristics in the material profile. All the steel bars are hot-rolled before going through the following three stages.
The steel bars pass through a specially designed, fully automated and computer-controlled cooling chamber. The surface of the bar is sprayed with jets of water, maintaining a cooler external temperature and a high core temperature.
The bars are removed from the cooling chamber and specified until the surface solidifies, forming an outer layer of tempered martensite.
